BRIEF: Tennis New Zealand were searching for options to get the Davis Cup into the media. Ultimately they wanted the event to be filmed live but Sky Sports would not cater to their market. A solution was needed to satisfy the live broadcast and coverage of the event. WHAT WE DID: Spark Productions was the official broadcaster of the Davis Cup (see www.daviscup.com) for the New Zealand group 1 tie between New Zealand and the Philippines. The 5 matches were broadcast live online with 4 commentators interacting via chat with viewers from around the world. Highlight reels of the matches were integrated into the broadcast and sent to Mediaworks, Prime/Sky and TVNZ for their daily news broadcast.

BRIEF: Rugby Challenge will include the All Blacks, Qantas Wallabies, ITM Cup, Aviva Premiership, and Super Rugby teams amongst other licensed teams and competitions, and will feature multiplayer online play, a multi-year franchise mode, a tutorial mode for novice players, extensive customisation options, and dynamic real-time commentary by Grant Nisbett and Justin Marshall.  More features, content, platforms and details will be announced in the future. Rugby Challenge will release for PS3, 360, PC, and Sony Vita in Q3 2011. WHAT WE DID: Spark Productions shot, produced and edited all episodes including interviews with popular athletes such as Jonah Lomu and The All Blacks. BRIEF: The 2011 ASB Classic featuring the Kia Motors Singles and Doubles has confirmed one of the ultimate names and faces of world sport – Maria Sharapova. ASB Bank requested a web series to cover the week long event to strengthen brand connection and provide on demand media for social networking sites and it’s own website. WHAT WE DID: Spark Productions was on location at the ASB tennis center and at special player events covering all aspects of the tournament. Working closely with Sky Sports comedian James McOnie, over 22 episodes were uploaded during the week with more than 69,000 unique views online to date, many of these during the tournament.

“Isaac worked for ASB during the ASB Classic Women’s International Tennis Tournament in January 2011.

He filmed and produced an online web series of the event working with James McOnie from SKY TV. The series was an integral part of our promotion campaign for the tournament and the quality and turnaround of the videos were excellent.

The series received around 50,000 views and we had a huge amount of positive feedback from our clients. I found Isaac very professional and easy to work with and I would not hesitate to use him again for any other web productions needed across ASB’s Sponsorship portfolio.”

BRIEF: Christchurch was hit by a horrific earthquake and in response to the call for donations Spark Productions donated it’s resources to promoting The Track Meet For Christchurch so more donations could be made. WHAT WE DID: Spark Productions provided web video appeals from some of the worlds top track athletes including silver medalist Nick Willis to urge people to attend the track event in Newtown and donate to several Charities. During the 2 hour event over $20,000 dollars were raised for the Salvation Army.

BRIEF: The aim was to educate people on the way the Activity Centre functions and to change the perspective of Activity Centres as last resorts for problem students. WHAT WE DID: Spark Productions produced a 3 minute web video telling the story of the Wellington Activity Centre and it’s teachers and students. Shot entirely on HDSLR the short film gives the Wellington Activity Centre a personality online that potential students and their parents can look at.

BRIEF: The Wellesley College Legacy Project is a long form documentary in production with Spark Productions. The documentary series tracks the stories of the old boys of Wellesley College ( a private school in Wellington) and brings their stories together to help build a strong network of graduates for future generations. WHAT WE DID: Spark Productions covered interviews with Marc Ellis and various other old boys including an interview with Alan Gibbs in London as well as overseeing the creative look and feel of the series.

BRIEF:The Carina Coffee Machine is an affordable way to make coffee and to demonstrate this a TVC was created in three lengths for broadcast on TV3. The TVC features the client and cricket celebrity Martin Crowe. WHAT WE DID:Spark Productions took the project from pre production all the way through to the broadcaster. We organised a crew to shoot for a full day and provided a director to maintain the look and feel the client wanted. Delivery of 3 lengths (30,60 and 180 second commercials) was made to TV3 via Dubsat.

BRIEF:Red Bull Wreckers Yard is taking street art culture from dark back alleys and the train tracks to the people. The best street artists across Australia and New Zealand have been hand-picked to showcase their creative skill in a legit location. This unique competition consists of a seven city qualifiers: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Auckland and Wellington. Each qualifier will host eight of the best street artists from that region to battle it out against one another, displaying their artistic flair, whilst spraying against the clock. Wellington kicks off the qualifiers in New Zealand, with 8 of its best street artists competing for the chance to fly to the Melbourne final and compete for the Red Bull Wreckers Yard Champion title. WHAT WE DID: Spark Productions filmed and edited the 3 minute video to be released for broadcast and web (see www.redbull.co.nz) across the Red Bull media network.

BRIEF: Spark Productions worked with The Migrating Kitchens Trust to produce a series of short documentaries on the cooking cultures of immigrant families from India, Afghanistan, Greece, Italy, Kenya and several other countries. The series was shown on the Documentary Channel and at the Migrating Kitchens Exhibition at the Pataka Gallery. WHAT WE DID: We filmed and edited several of the stories and worked with Sauce Post Production to complete a series of short documentaries.
